Fund Raiser Camden
Beardaship member, Robbie Stratti, along with the managers of the Merino Tavern Bistro: Kate, Lorrie and son Josh (Robbie's life long mate) organized a fund raiser that was held at the Merino Tavern last night 25-08-08 at 6:00pm. It was attended by the Mayor of Camden, Chris Patterson, along with 4 other council members; representatives of the local business community and people from the surrounding Macarthur district from all walks of life. The Food Water Shelter Girls were there to help out and give their support. Beards For Africa would like to thank everyone for their support and generosity. The evening was a massive success. The money raised will go a long way to helping our members to reach their goals in Africa. Special thanks to those business and people that donated the gifts and prizes that were raffled off on the night. There were some brilliant prizes that put a lot of smiles on peoples faces.
Our Blog is set up so we can let all of our family, friends, supporters and fans know what we are up to in Africa. Our team is going to work on a building project to finish Kesho Leo Children's Village that Darren Stratti, brother and father of our founding members, had spent 18 months of his life building before his life ended in a robbery at the volunteer village. We are going to do this in honour of Darren to celebrate the inspirational man that he was. Rest in Peace Brother.
